This module covers four primary topics as follows:

Part 1: Engage in the identification of risk events on construction projects

Part 2: Analyse risk events with regard to the risk exposure of clients and other relevant stakeholders

Part 3: Respond to risk events to minimise the impact on clients and other stakeholders

Part 4: Capture risk knowledge for use on future projects

The module comprises three main parts, each one contributing to an understanding of the aspects of the construction sector that are impacted by dispute resolution procedures. The breakdown of this module is as follows:

 

Part 1 – Review of principles of dispute resolution and disputes

Part 2 – Overview of existing dispute resolution options

Part 3 – Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in common construction contracts. 

This module is only available to users once an access payment has been received. Successful completion of this module will result in the user being awarded an AAQS School Certificate.

The primary objective of this module is to provide users with an understanding of the theoretical concepts of life cycle costing in the African construction industry, and to contextualize this within the framework of professional activities undertaken within the built environment. In this module the main procedures currently used to undertake life cycle appraisals in the construction industry are covered and this module illustrates the advantages and disadvantages between the various forms of whole life appraisal processes

The module comprises six main parts, each one contributing to an understanding of the procurement selection process for Built Environment projects. The breakdown of this module is as follows:

 Part 1 – Property economics

Part 2 – Developers and clients

Part 3 – Design solutions

Part 4 – Preparing financial feasibility studies

Part 5 – Other consultants

Part 6 – Presentation of the financial feasibility study

This module is only available to users once an access payment has been received. Successful completion of this module will result in the user being awarded an AAQS School Certificate.

This module comprises 5 main topic areas as follows:

Part 1: Identification of project objectives and the relevance of value management

Part 2: Typical value management process applications

Part 3: Recording and distributing the results of the value management exercise

Part 4: Recommend to the client how outcomes of the value management assessment can be adopted

Part 5:  Other value management issues
