In this module users are guided in understanding and applying the measurement principles embodied within the AAQS Standard Method of Measuring Building Work for Africa. Typical sections covered include:
* Bulk earthworks
* Basement excavations and lateral support systems
* Structural Steelwork
* Electrical Installations
* Alterations

Users intending to undertake the examination for this module are advised that this forms the primary material which is to be covered in depth and examined

The examination for this module assumes that the user has read all these articles which supplement the Study Guide

Users intending to undertake the examination for this module are strongly urged to review all the material lodged here. It should be noted that where measurement examples are provided, these may not be in accordance with the latest version of the AAQS Standard System of Measurement, but are provided to provide a general overview of typical measurement approaches

Users intending to undertake the examination for this module are advised that the assignment experience may form part of the examination for this module.
You are required to measure and bill the work indicated on the attached drawings / brief specifications, utilising the AAQS Standard Method of Measuring Building Works.
While you may consult with other candidates and employers / mentors, the submission should reflect your own personal input. It is possible that candidates will be called upon under examination conditions, to indicate their understanding / demonstrate their competency in any aspect relating to this assignment which reflects the expected individual input.
This assignment contributes 50% towards the total module mark

This exam contributes 50% towards the final mark for this module.
This question paper consists of 2 questions. You are required to answer BOTH of the questions provided.
Clearly mark the question number as indicated on the question sheet for each answer provided.
Candidates are advised to set out their work clearly, concisely and logically.
You have 4 hours in which to complete your answers which have equal marks (25 marks each)
